Aimee was a Peace Corps volunteer in Haiti and returned there to implement her Wild Gift project – The Abraham Project. Aimee developed and implemented a pig-raising project, which provides a sustainable income for the operation of the Abraham village school. She taught a class on money and project management, and developed an accountability contract signed by all village parents (32 families/132 children) involved in the project. Aimee has remained in touch with the Abraham village chair after leaving Haiti to be director of a grassroots environmental campaign in Hawaii for two years. Aimee then completed a Masters program of Natural Resources and Peace Studies at the UN-mandated University for Peace in Costa Rica, followed by a 3-month internship at Rancho Mastatal, a sustainable living and environmental learning center in rural Costa Rica. After working on the 2008 Obama presidential election campaign as a director in field offices in Ohio and Colorado, Aimee returned to Hawaii campaigning to fight global warming as a frontline representative with Greenpeace. Aimee is currently teaching English in Seoul, Korea with the plan to save enough money to start a sustainable living project in Haiti that can be duplicated in other Haitian communities.
