The mission of Justin’s Wild Gift project – Tall Trees Youth Stewardship – is to create a youth empowerment and ecological restoration initiative in the urban forest of Olympia, Washington that improves urban greenspaces and inspires young people through environmental service. Justin recruited several youth groups and worked with the city of Olympia in restoring a high-use park area of the city. He has produced a slick, richly illustrated ‘how-to’ guide, complete with planning steps and resources, that any motivated individual can use to organize and implement ecological restoration in their own community. It’s a tool for making a powerful contribution to community, as per Justin’s project mission. The guide serves equally well for those who want to effect watershed restoration. It can be ordered from Justin. Justin is currently enrolled in an MBA program with a focus on sustainability at the University of Washington.
